About this course
The Oaks is the 18-hole championship course at the resort now operating as Margaritaville Lake Resort (formerly Tan-Tar-A) in Osage Beach, Missouri, on the Lake of the Ozarks. It was designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert von Hagge and opened around 1980 on the site of a former ski slope.
The course is cut through wooded, hilly Ozark terrain, with water hazards and bunkers spread across a routing where no two holes run side by side. Small, undulating greens and narrow fairways put a premium on accuracy over length.
The Oaks operates alongside the resort's shorter nine-hole Hidden Lakes course. It is primarily available to resort guests and members, with limited outside access, and plays to a par of 71 at roughly 6,400 yards from the back tees.
