Stonewall Golf Club sits along the shores of Lake Manassas in Gainesville, Virginia, part of Prince William County's Northern Virginia suburbs. Designed by architect Tom Jackson, the course opened in September 2001 and is often mistaken for a private club because of its clubhouse and lake setting.
The layout covers about 7,000 yards from the back tees at a par of 72, with the front nine running along the lake and the back nine moving into wooded, hilly terrain; the par-3 holes and several par 5s are frequently cited as the course's strongest holes. From the 15th tee, players can see the neighboring private Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.
Despite its upscale feel, Stonewall operates as a public daily-fee course with practice facilities, a restaurant and event spaces available to all golfers.
