About this course
St. Johnsbury Country Club is a semi-private 18-hole course in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, near the New Hampshire border. Golf began there in 1923, when local physician Dr. Frank Farmer helped organize the club and two-time British Open champion Willie Park Jr. designed the original nine holes, one of his last projects before his death. In 1992, architect Geoffrey Cornish added nine new holes that wrap around the historic original nine, working with longtime member Jim Havers. The course covers 160 acres of Northeast Kingdom countryside with rolling terrain and mountain views, and the older and newer nines offer distinct styles of play, with the newer holes demanding more length. The club faced financial difficulty in the mid-2010s and was sold to a Florida-based ownership group in 2016 that committed to maintaining the course. St. Johnsbury has hosted regional tournaments, including a Women's Tri-State Championship.

Bethlehem Country Club began in 1898 as a nine-hole course built by a group of townspeople who wanted golf for the village's summer visitors. The course grew to 18 holes in 1909, and the local historical society credits Donald Ross with the nine-hole design. The current clubhouse went up in 1912 on the site of the old Bellevue House hotel. The town owned and ran the course from 1949 through 2020, when Kim and Mark Koprowski bought it. It plays to par 70 at 5,812 yards on Main Street in the White Mountains, with small greens and mountain views. Putter's Pub serves breakfast and lunch on a deck overlooking the course.
