About this course

Skyline Golf Course is a nine-hole public course east of Cathlamet, Washington, laid out on a hillside overlooking the Columbia River in rural Wahkiakum County. The course opened in 1971 and was designed by Ralph Rodahl.

The hilly terrain makes for a walk comparable to a steep local landmark climb, with small, undulating greens set on sloped ground. Mature trees line several fairways, and the course offers views of the surrounding river valley.

The course plays to a par of 35 and measures roughly 2,313 yards from the white tees. Carts and clubs are available for rent, and the course remains open to the public.

Mint Valley Golf Course

Longview, WA · 18 mi away

Mint Valley Golf Course is an 18-hole public course in Longview, Washington, built on former mint farmland. International golf course designer Ron Forse (referred to locally as Ron Freem) laid out the course, which held its grand opening tournament in the late 1970s and has operated as a city-owned facility ever since. The par-71 layout runs 6,432 yards from the back tees, with well-bunkered greens, water hazards and mature trees testing golfers of all skill levels. A separate six-hole par-3 course, with holes of 50 to 90 yards, gives beginners and short-game practice players a lower-pressure option alongside the main course. Owned by the City of Longview and operated under contracted management, Mint Valley includes a covered driving range and practice greens. The course marked its 50th anniversary with clubhouse and irrigation upgrades in recent years.

Three Rivers Golf Course

Kelso, WA · 22 mi away

Three Rivers Golf Course sits just outside Kelso, Washington, on land bounded by the Columbia, Cowlitz and Coweeman rivers in southwest Washington's I-5 corridor. Built on a base of silt and sand, the course opened for play in 1983 and drains well after rain, making it a common choice for golfers when other regional courses are too wet to play. The 18-hole public layout measures about 6,700 yards to a par of 72, with well-groomed fairways suited to golfers of varying skill levels. The facility is walkable, offers cart and club rentals, and includes a driving range with grass hitting areas along with a pro shop. Green fees are modest, and the course draws regular play from golfers traveling along the I-5 corridor between Portland and Seattle.

Gearhart Golf Links

Gearhart, OR · 29 mi away

Gearhart Golf Links occupies dunes along the north Oregon coast in the town of Gearhart. Accounts trace informal play there to the late 1880s, with the course formally established in 1892 when the front nine was built; a second nine was added by 1915. Gearhart has operated continuously since then and is generally regarded as the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River. Early architects included Robert Livingstone and, later, George Turnbull and H. Chandler Egan. A renovation between 2013 and 2015 removed trees to restore a more open, links-style look. The course is open to the public and hosted the 1917 Oregon Amateur Championship among other regional events over its history.
