Shangri-La Golf Resort (Blue Course)

Oklahoma's premier lakeside resort golf: Grand Lake O' the Cherokees

Afton, OK

57301 E 250 Road, Afton, OK 74331

About this course

The Blue Course is part of Shangri-La Resort in Afton, Oklahoma, on Grand Lake. It was designed by Donald Sechrest and opened in 1973 as an 18-hole, par-72 layout, sometimes referred to as the Old Blue course.

A renovation completed in 2015, led by architect Tom Clark of Ault, Clark & Associates, reworked the course. The resort now refers to its front and back nines from that project as the Heritage and Legends courses, part of a larger 27-hole facility that also includes a separate Championship course.

Shangri-La operates as a resort facility with lodging packages, golf instruction, and simulator bays, and has a longstanding association with baseball player Mickey Mantle, who played there frequently.
