About this course
Reems Creek Golf Club lies in a valley near Weaverville, North Carolina, a short drive from Asheville and surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. The course was designed by the British firm Hawtree and Son of Oxford, England, the same firm behind Royal Birkdale, and opened in 1989 with a Scottish Highland-style look of rolling terrain, deep knolls, and bentgrass tees, fairways and greens. It plays to a par of 71 across roughly 6,235 yards from the back markers. After falling into disrepair and a 2019 bankruptcy, new local ownership took over at the end of that year and made extensive renovations, including bunker removal and irrigation and clubhouse upgrades. It operates as a semi-private club with limited outside play alongside its golf community of homes.

Omni Grove Park Inn Golf Course
Asheville, NC · 5.8 mi away
The Omni Grove Park Inn course sits on the eastern slope of Sunset Mountain within the historic Grove Park Inn estate in Asheville. Donald Ross renovated the layout in the 1920s and gave it the routing still in play today through the Blue Ridge foothills. The par-70 course threads tree-lined, hilly corridors with significant elevation change and long views back toward the Arts and Crafts hotel. At roughly 6,100 yards it is short by modern standards, but uneven lies and steeply elevated approaches make length beside the point. It is the mountain counterpoint to Ross's flatter Sandhills work.
Asheville Municipal Golf Course
Asheville, NC · 8.4 mi away
Asheville Municipal Golf Course is an 18-hole Donald Ross design that opened in 1927 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The front nine plays wide open, while the back nine is tighter and more wooded, rewarding accuracy. Hurricane Helene damaged the front nine, which is serving as a disc golf course during restoration, and the back nine remains open for regular golf. Check with the course for current conditions before booking.
Black Mountain Golf Course
Black Mountain, NC · 13 mi away

The par-70 layout plays to about 6,200 yards at the foot of the Seven Sisters range, famous for its 747-yard par-5 17th, once among the longest holes in the world. It is a beloved and affordable mountain muni.
