About this course

Pinecrest Golf Course occupies a compact site bordered by city streets in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and is the oldest golf course in the state. The property was acquired by the city from the Idaho Falls Country Club in 1934 and rebuilt as an all-grass course through a Works Progress Administration project starting in 1935.

By 1938 Pinecrest had grown into an 18-hole course, only the second in Idaho, with a clubhouse completed in 1937 in a rustic stone-and-log style that still stands today. Narrow, tree-lined fairways give the course an old-school character distinct from newer Idaho Falls courses.

Owned by the city, Pinecrest remains open to public play and has hosted the Idaho Open and other tournaments over its long history, drawing golfers interested in its historic layout and clubhouse.
