Hilo Municipal Golf Course is an 18-hole public facility located in Hilo, Hawaii. Designed by Willard Wilkinson, the course opened to the public in 1951. It plays to a par of 71 and has a total length of 6,325 yards. The course features Bermuda grass greens and wide fairways that allow for aggressive play. Golfers enjoy views of the Hilo coast throughout the round. A major renovation project completed in 2016 included rebuilding four greens and installing a new irrigation system. The facility includes a pro shop and a restaurant that serves casual food.

Volcano Golf & Country Club

Volcano, HI · 24 mi away

Volcano Golf and Country Club sits at about 4,000 feet next to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, just north of Kilauea on the Big Island. The par 72 course plays in cool, often misty mountain air and feels nothing like a coastal resort round. It is open to the public.

Hāmākua Country Club

Honokaʻa, HI · 35 mi away

Hāmākua Country Club opened in 1926 in Honokaa, on the northeast coast of the Big Island, about 1,200 feet above the sea. Scottish engineers working at the local sugar plantation built it, and it is the second-oldest course on the island. It is listed on the Hawaii historic register. It is a nine-hole course played twice from two sets of tees, about 4,800 yards at par 66 for men. The greens are small, and the trade winds make it play longer than the card. Most golfers walk. The public is welcome, and the clubhouse at the top of the hill looks out over the Pacific.
