About this course
Morris Country Club in Morris, Illinois was organized in 1924 when local members raised funds to purchase an 83.7-acre site, opening a nine-hole course for play on July 4, 1924, with a clubhouse completed in 1927. After a 1971 fire destroyed the original clubhouse, a new one was built in 1972. The club purchased additional acreage in 1976 and members designed and built a second nine, completed in stages through 1978, bringing the course to its current 18-hole, par-71 configuration of about 6,060 yards. The layout is marked by mature trees and rolling hills characteristic of the area.
