Mars Hill Country Club

Mars Hill Country Club is a public, 18-hole, par-72 course in Mars Hill, Maine, built in 1991 at the base of Mars Hill Mountain in Aroostook County. From the blue tees it plays 6,043 yards with a course rating of 69.0 and a slope of 123, long enough for the region but forgiving off the tee on most holes. Bluegrass fairways and bent grass greens are standard for northern Maine, and the layout stays walkable for anyone who wants the climb.

The course is known locally for the par-3 6th, which tees off from the mountain side and drops roughly 160 vertical feet to the green below, one of the more dramatic short holes in the state. The rest of the routing rolls through open, tree-lined corridors with long views toward the surrounding farmland and the New Brunswick border. Green fees stay low, the pace is relaxed, and the staff keeps the course open to the public seven days a week, which makes Mars Hill one of the more accessible daily-fee options north of Bangor.
