Grass Clippings Rolling Hills is a city-owned course in Tempe that the Grass Clippings group leased from the city in 2022 and reopened as the first fully lit 18-hole golf course in Arizona. It sits on 93 acres in the Papago Buttes, minutes from Arizona State University, downtown Phoenix and Old Town Scottsdale.
The routing dates to 1960, when Milton Coggins laid out the front nine, with Gary Panks adding the back nine in 1987. By day it plays as an executive-length course mixing par 3s and par 4s. After dark the lights turn it into an 18-hole par-3 layout, with holes ranging from about 90 to 200 yards.
More than 78 LED towers light the property. Night golf runs from dusk until 1 a.m., seven days a week, with 9-hole tee times only after 10 p.m. The driving range and the 15,000 square foot putting green are open day and night, and the range includes covered hitting bays with Toptracer.
Former TPC Scottsdale head groundskeeper Scott Hebert runs the grounds crew, and conditioning is a stated priority. Glenrosa Bar and Restaurant and an event lawn sit alongside the course.

It reopened in November 2018 after a 10-month redesign by architect Phil Smith, who cut the resort's original 27 holes to a single 18-hole routing on the existing fairway corridors. The renovation rebuilt the green complexes and recontoured fairways so bunkers and hazards are visible from the tee, with no blind shots. The course plays to a par of 71 from roughly 4,575 to 6,518 yards. It sits within the resort's Sonoran Desert grounds at 6000 East Camelback Road.
