About this course

The Golf Club of Illinois is a public course in Algonquin, in the Chicago exurbs of northern Illinois. It was built in 1987 by architects Dick Nugent and Bruce Borland as a links-style layout, featuring high fescue grasses, deep sand bunkers, and mounding throughout the property.

The course plays to a par of 71 and stretches to roughly 7,041 yards from the back tees with a slope of 132, offering four to five sets of tees for varying skill levels. In 1990 it hosted the Illinois Open Championship. Facilities include a banquet hall for events, a snack and beverage service, and online tee time booking; the course is open to the public with weekday and weekend rate cards and seasonal memberships available.
