About this course
Golden Gate Park Golf Course occupies the western edge of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, close to the Pacific Ocean shoreline. It was built in 1951, and its rolling terrain reflects the natural sand dunes that once covered the surrounding property.
The course is a nine-hole par-3 layout with holes ranging from under 100 yards to about 200 yards, making it approachable for beginners while still giving experienced players a workout for their short game. It underwent a significant renovation completed in 2023 that updated the facility and improved playability and sustainability.
Operated by San Francisco Recreation and Parks, the course is open daily to the public and walking-only, with tee times bookable online and limited walk-on availability. A driving cage and pull-cart rentals are available on site.

Lincoln Park Golf Course
San Francisco, CA · 1.3 mi away
Lincoln Park Golf Course is a San Francisco municipal course, set in Lincoln Park near the Legion of Honor. The 18-hole layout plays over hilly terrain, and the 17th hole offers one of the famous views in American golf, across the Golden Gate. The course dates to the early 1900s.

Presidio Golf Course
San Francisco, CA · 3.1 mi away
Presidio Golf Course sits inside the Presidio of San Francisco, a national park a short drive from downtown, with fairways lined by mature eucalyptus and Monterey pine that were planted not long after the course was built. The land began as an Army post course in 1895 and was expanded to eighteen holes in 1910, with a 1920 redesign by the London firm of Fowler and Simpson adding length and an irrigation system. The layout climbs and falls through the Presidio's hills, giving several holes noticeable elevation change and views toward the surrounding forest and city. Fairways are tighter than many modern public courses and bunkers are placed to punish loose tee shots. The course opened to public play in 1995 after decades as a military and private club facility; a new clubhouse followed in 1999. It remains open daily to any golfer, with a practice range, restaurant, and pro shop at 300 Finley Road near the Arguello Gate.

TPC Harding Park
San Francisco, CA · 3.2 mi away
TPC Harding Park is a San Francisco municipal course that opened in 1925, laid out by Willie Watson and Sam Whiting, the same pair behind the courses at nearby Olympic Club. It sits on the shore of Lake Merced in the southwest corner of the city. The golf is old-school parkland: tall cypress lining tight fairways, small greens, and coastal fog and wind that take distance out of the ball. The 18th plays along the lake edge to a green in front of the clubhouse. The course fell into poor condition before a major restoration completed in 2003. It hosted the 2009 Presidents Cup and the 2020 PGA Championship, won by Collin Morikawa, and remains open to public play at municipal rates for city residents.
