About this course

The Glacier Club is located in Washington Township, Michigan, in the southeastern part of the state. The course was originally laid out on rolling terrain suited to a links-style renovation.

It opened in 1993 as an 18-hole design by Bill Newcomb and was renovated in 2008 by architect Arthur Hills, who added links-style mounding and generous fairways. The course plays to 7,139 yards from the back tees across five sets of tees.

The Glacier Club is a public, daily fee course with a practice facility for warming up before a round. Tee times can be booked online or by phone.

The Orchards Golf Club is an 18-hole daily-fee course in Washington, Michigan, roughly an hour from Detroit, set on a 525-acre former farmland site with lakes, wetlands, prairie grasses and mature apple orchards. The club's own materials and the Robert Trent Jones II portfolio credit Robert Trent Jones Jr. as designer of the 1993 layout, which uses canted, sloped greens and close to ninety bunkers to reward varied angles of approach; some third-party sources instead attribute the design to Arthur Hills, a discrepancy that could not be resolved with certainty. A Victorian-style clubhouse echoes the architecture of nearby Romeo and Washington. The course is open daily to the public and includes an extensive practice facility.

Blackheath Golf Club is an 18-hole public course in Rochester Hills, Michigan, built on 128 acres. It opened in 1998, designed and constructed by Kevin Aldrich, who based the layout on heathland-style courses he saw in Scotland, featuring gently rolling fairways and flatter bunkering rather than a links-style design. The course plays to a par of 71, measuring about 6,768 yards from the back tees, with four sets of tees, undulating greens and bunkering meant to challenge players of different abilities. It hosted a United States Amateur sectional qualifier in 1998. The course has bent grass fairways and greens and is open to public play, with tee times bookable online or by phone.
