The layout is links-style with wide, bentgrass fairways on tees, fairways and greens, fescue serving as the main hazard, and a mix of woods and water among the area's characteristic farmland terrain. Eagle Springs Golf Resort
Eagle, WI · 12 mi away
Eagle Springs Golf Resort in Eagle, Wisconsin, traces its origins to 1893, when William Tuohy converted his family's farm into a vacation resort with a hotel, cottages, and an 18-hole golf course. A.G. Spalding laid out the first two holes, with the rest of the course shaped by the natural terrain around Eagle Springs Lake. The Great Depression forced the resort to close and sell its hotel, and the course was reduced from 18 to nine holes in 1929, a footprint it has kept since. The property, including several original cottages, has remained in the Tuohy family and its descendants for six generations. Eagle Springs operates today as a public nine-hole course, recognized as the oldest continuously operating golf course in Wisconsin. Several original cottages are still rented to guests.
