The Ranch Golf Club

Southwick, MA · 6.8 mi away

The Ranch Golf Club is a public, 18-hole course in Southwick, Massachusetts, built on former farmland along the Southwick Jog, the border quirk between Massachusetts and Connecticut. Damian Pascuzzo designed the par-72 course, which opened in 2001. From the back tees it plays 7,174 yards with a course rating of 75.0 and a slope of 139. The layout climbs and descends through the foothills of the Berkshires, mixing open holes with tree-lined ones. The par-5 opening hole has a split fairway that invites a risk-reward tee shot.

Ledges Golf Club

South Hadley, MA · 12 mi away

Ledges Golf Club is a municipal course owned by the Town of South Hadley, Massachusetts, in the Pioneer Valley near the Connecticut River. The Town purchased the 244-acre site in 1996, and the course, designed by architect Howard Maurer, opened for play in August 2001. The routing winds through wetlands, mature forest and former farmland, with 78 bunkers placed throughout and four sets of tees stretching the course to 6,507 yards. Elevated tees and greens are common features, and the layout mixes open, links-style holes with sections threading through wooded terrain. Views extend to the surrounding mountain range from several points on the course. As a town-run public facility, Ledges is open to any golfer, offers seasonal memberships alongside daily-fee play, and added a driving range and new clubhouse in 2008. It has since hosted regional amateur and PGA section events.

Gillette Ridge Golf Club

Bloomfield, CT · 16 mi away

Gillette Ridge Golf Club, located in Bloomfield, Connecticut, is a magnificent Arnold Palmer design that stands as a tribute to the traditions and challenges of golf. Crafted by the legendary golfer and world-renowned architect, the course, opened in 2004, capitalizes on the site’s natural beauty, featuring streams, lakes, and significant elevation changes. Palmer’s design philosophy at Gillette Ridge aimed to create a dynamic layout that tests all aspects of a golfer’s game while providing an aesthetically pleasing experience. The course is known for its tree-lined fairways, spectacular carries, and a variety of terrain that challenges and excites. While many holes present unique challenges, the par-5 second hole is often highlighted as a signature, offering a true risk-reward opportunity from a tee box with views of the Heublein Tower. Another memorable feature is the peninsula green, which was formerly the 18th hole and is now the 9th, demanding precision. Gillette Ridge is considered one of Palmer Course Design Company’s best creations, offering a challenging yet enjoyable round amidst a beautiful natural setting.
