University Ridge Golf Course

Verona, WI · 5.8 mi away

University Ridge Golf Course is a public course in Verona, Wisconsin, about fifteen minutes from downtown Madison, and serves as the home course for the University of Wisconsin men's and women's golf teams. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the layout, which opened in 1991 on a terminal glacial moraine, and the routing follows the natural ridge that separates the property into rolling hills and valleys. The front nine plays through preserved prairie and marshland, while the early back-nine holes cut through wooded terrain before opening again near the finish, including an uphill par-4 18th. The course has hosted state high school championships and, since 2016, the PGA Tour Champions' American Family Insurance Championship. It plays to a par of 72 with five sets of tees offering a wide range of yardages for different skill levels. Public tee times are available year-round during the April-to-November season.
