Amana Colonies Golf Club
Golf among Iowa's historic Amana Colonies
About this course
Amana Colonies Golf Club sits on roughly 500 acres of white oak forest near the historic Amana Colonies in eastern Iowa. The 18-hole course opened in 1989 and was designed by architect Jim Spear, who routed the layout through the property's hills and stands of oak.
The course features meandering streams, ponds and a number of blind shots created by the hilly terrain, giving it more elevation change than golfers might expect in Iowa. Five sets of tees allow it to play from just over 5,200 yards up to 6,824 yards.
Amana Colonies operates as a public course with on-site lodging at nearby condominiums, making it a popular stop for golf trips through eastern Iowa near Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.
