The 18-hole championship course was designed by Gary Panks in a links style and opened in 2000. It plays to a par of 72 and stretches from about 5,442 to 7,089 yards depending on tee selection, with rolling terrain, large bunkers, desert transition areas and three lakes affecting play on five holes.
Aguila is open daily year round and is operated as a public course by the City of Phoenix, with a pro shop, restaurant, driving range and both grass and cart-path access. It is one of the more heavily played municipal courses in the Phoenix area.
