Warrior Golf Club is 30 miles south of Charlotte. Stan Gentry designed the course, which winds around 52-acre Lake Wright. The layout is hilly and has many penalty areas. The 223-yard par-three 16th is the signature hole, challenging golfers with its length and a lake hazard around the green. Tee times range from $35 after 3 pm to $65 on weekends. A replay rate of $25–30 is available for 36 holes.

Sparks, NV

Red Hawk Golf and Resort is a semi-private facility in Sparks, Nevada, just outside Reno, that includes two 18-hole courses. The Lakes Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., opened in 1997 and winds through natural lakes and mature cottonwood trees on land that was once a working ranch. A second course, the Hills Course, was designed by three-time U.S. Open champion Hale Irwin and opened in 2005, featuring small greens, dramatic elevation changes and deep bunkers set against views of the Spanish Springs Valley. The Lakes Course stretches to about 7,140 yards from the back tees and combines water, sand and desert terrain throughout its routing. Red Hawk operates on a semi-private basis, open to daily fee play, annual pass holders and resort guests in addition to members, with golf operations managed by Troon.
