Hinsdale, MA

Bas Ridge Golf Course is a family-run public course in Hinsdale, in the heart of the Berkshires. Opened in 1982 and designed by Rowland Armacost, the par-70 layout plays just 5,051 yards, but tight, narrow corridors keep it honest for better players while remaining friendly to beginners. The setting is the draw: some of the best views of the Berkshire Mountains in the county. Prices are everyday low with senior specials and evening rates, and nine-hole leagues run Monday through Wednesday. One quirk to know before you go: the pro shop does not accept credit cards.
