Homer, NE

Landmand Golf Course opened in 2022 in Homer, Nebraska, in the loess hills above the Missouri River valley, and was designed by King-Collins, the team of Rob Collins and Tad King. The name is Danish for farmer, a nod to the family that has farmed the land for generations and still does. The scale is the story. Fairways are extremely wide, the property has close to 200 feet of elevation change, and the greens are among the largest built in modern American golf, several of them broken into separate lobes by ridges that can leave a putt with 30 feet of break. The par-3 12th plays across a valley, and the punchbowl 18th funnels shots toward the middle. There is no housing and little shelter from the wind. The course is walkable, caddies are available, and the clubhouse and short course sit on the high ground with views out over Iowa and South Dakota.

South Pittsburg, TN

Sweetens Cove in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, is a nine-hole course designed by Rob Collins and Tad King and opened in 2014. It replaced a flat, unremarkable municipal layout on the same piece of ground near the Tennessee River. The design moves an enormous amount of dirt into ridges, punchbowls and Biarritz-style greens, with the greens averaging far larger than normal and set up to feed shots from wide of the target. Tee locations change from day to day, so the nine can play very differently on a second loop. There is no formal clubhouse and the course is walking only. It is open to public play, with tee times limited by the size of the property.

Accord, NY

Inness is a nine-hole golf course at a small resort in Accord, in New York's Hudson Valley. Designed by Rob Collins and Tad King and completed in 2018, it is the pair's first project after Sweetens Cove in Tennessee and has been nicknamed 'Sweetens' Back Nine' for its unconventional style. The holes are wide and shared between fairways, with multiple flag positions on each green, encouraging golfers to play the same hole from different angles on repeated loops. The design favors a relaxed round over a traditional championship test, with emphasis on short-game creativity around firm, undulating greens. Inness operates as part of a resort with lodging, dining, and a members club, welcoming overnight guests and daily-fee golfers. Walking is encouraged, dress code is casual, and keeping score is optional, reflecting the informal approach the architects intended.
