Sarasota National Golf Club

Venice, FL

Sarasota National Golf Club is part of a 2,400-acre residential community in Venice, Florida, about 20 miles south of downtown Sarasota and a few miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The course is surrounded by native wetlands and preserves within the community. The 18-hole course was designed by Gordon Lewis and opened in 2008. It is recognized as an Audubon International Certified Signature Sanctuary, reflecting habitat and water-quality practices built into the layout, and it has few forced carries despite water affecting roughly a third of the holes. The course serves the Sarasota National community and its clubhouse amenities, including dining, pools, and tennis, function as private club facilities for residents and members. It plays to a par of 72, with a longest yardage of about 7,344 to 7,406 yards depending on the tee set referenced, and a renovation of the course by Fry/Straka was approved to begin in 2026.
