Tangle Ridge Golf Club

Grand Prairie, TX

Tangle Ridge Golf Club is an 18-hole public course in Grand Prairie, Texas, situated between Joe Pool Lake and the Mountain Creek Escarpment. Designed by Texas architect Jeffrey D. Brauer and opened in 1995, the course was built to give the flat Dallas-Fort Worth region a Hill Country feel, with elevation changes exceeding fifty feet. The 250-acre layout is bisected by a stream running east to west, and roughly 60 acres of native vegetation were preserved during construction to minimize disruption to existing wetlands. Tree-lined fairways, bunkering, mounding and creek crossings require golfers to use a full range of clubs and shot shapes, and the routing keeps most holes visually separated from one another.

Stoney Ridge Golf Course

Childress, TX

Stoney Ridge Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 71 public course in Childress, Texas, designed by George Williams and opened in 2008. The open links-style layout spans 6,761 yards from the longest tees and features tall prairie grasses lining the fairways. Golfers face elevation changes and large greens that encourage the use of bump and run shots. The facility includes an onsite driving range and a restaurant known as the Grill on the Green.

Desert Lakes Golf Course

Alamogordo, NM

Desert Lakes Golf Course is an 18-hole public course in Alamogordo, New Mexico, at the base of the Sacramento Mountains. Remodeled in 1996-97 by Williams and Gill, the front nine is a tree-lined, parkland-style layout with large, subtly undulating greens, while the back nine, known locally as the desert nine, is cut from the surrounding high desert terrain. Water hazards come into play on eleven of the eighteen holes. The course offers four sets of tees, a pro shop with club fitting and instruction, and a grill, and plays year-round thanks to the region's mild winters.
