Rockport Golf Club

Rockport, MA

Rockport Golf Club occupies a hilltop site at the tip of Cape Ann in Rockport, Massachusetts, with clubhouse views of Sandy Bay and the town's Twin Lights. The nine-hole course was laid out by Essex County professional Eugene Wogan on former farmland and formally opened to the public in 1915. The club struggled financially during the Depression before being reorganized and renamed Rockport Golf Club in the 1930s. Today it operates as a semi-private club with a long-tenured head professional on staff, and it is known locally for the quality of its fairways and greens.
