The Golf Club at Middle Bay

Oceanside, NY

A semi-private, links-style course on Long Island's south shore in Oceanside, with views across the water toward Jones Beach and the barrier islands. Alfred Tull designed the course, which opened in 1955 as the private Middle Bay Country Club, and Kipp Schulties led later renovation work. The par-72 layout plays to 6,819 yards, and wind off the bay is a factor on nearly every hole. The club nearly closed for good after Hurricane Sandy but reopened under new operation.

Cape Cod Country Club

East Falmouth, MA

Cape Cod Country Club is located in East Falmouth, Massachusetts, and has operated on the same site since 1928, when it opened as a nine-hole course called Coonamesset. Devereux Emmet and Alfred H. Tull designed the original layout; a long-standing rumor that Donald Ross later redesigned it to 18 holes has never been documented by club researchers. The course changed names several times before becoming Cape Cod Country Club in 1977. It hosted three consecutive Massachusetts Open championships in the 1950s and an Arnold Palmer exhibition match in 1960. A notable hole is the par-4 14th, nicknamed "The Volcano" for its elevated green. The Friel family has owned the club since 1985; it operates as a public course open year-round. As of 2025 the family had agreed to sell part of the property for a solar project, leaving the course's future uncertain.

Sunken Meadow State Park Golf Course

Kings Park, NY

Sunken Meadow State Park features 27 holes playable as either 9 or 18 holes. The first two courses were built in 1962, followed by the Blue Course in 1964. All three courses were designed by Alfred Tull, who also designed the Yellow course and redesigned the Blue course at Bethpage State Park. Tull preferred to utilize the natural lay of the land, bringing the existing terrain into his design. Golfers can expect a somewhat hilly and variable layout surrounded by mature woodlands, offering an attractive and relaxing experience. In addition to the beautiful woodland setting, the driving range offers expansive panoramic views of the Long Island Sound.
